In all its activities, Central Africa Refugee Link, West Midlands – “CARE LINK WEST MIDLANDS” works with refugees and asylum seekers from Central Africa living in West Midlands to promote their inclusion and eliminate isolation. It offers a support network for them and an information service to all concerned for their welfare (local and regional politico-administrative authorities and civil society leaders). It gives French speaking refugees from Central Africa a voice in the society by trying to break all unspeakable truths and taboos.
The year 2006-2007 has been an interesting and demanding year what with the follow-up activities of the mental health campaign and various projects Care Link has been involved with. The organisation has worked hard and has successfully completed most of its programmes in spite of the financial challenges that we faced in raising fund. It was a very busy time in the fiscal year but together we rounded off what has been a somewhat hectic year.
The work undertaken by the organisation was interesting and both organisation staff/members gained a lot of knowledge about the areas investigated. This year's activity generated skill grades and these have been made available through the undertaken follow-up activities of the various activities undertaken during the last year.
As we enter a new year the organisation is still clearly needed and appreciated. Some of its activities during the year under review are depicted and described in the following headings.
